Forest Pennant Paving & Architectural Masonry
Hayes Farm, a 100-acre livestock farm in Newent, undertook a restoration project to restore the courtyard to its former glory - parts of the farmhouse date back to the Domesday book but the original outbuildings were demolished by the previous owners. The new owners, Mr & Mrs Freeman, were keen to source materials and labour locally from a 10-mile radius of the farm. Forest Pennant Sandstone was the ideal choice for the outbuildings; the natural colour complemented the tones of the main building materials.
We supplied Forest Pennant paving and a range of architectural masonry products; from copings, ball finials, chamfered mounting blocks to window and door surrounds. In addition to our Forest Pennant sandstone, the project also incorporated used timber from Lydney and bricks and tiles from Coleford - all local materials and tradespeople for a unique restoration project.

The team at Forest of Dean Stone Firms has shown incredible skill, not only helping us with quantities and finish but also supplying exquisite masonry features; even our chamfered mounting block looks the part!
